Resonance may not be well known but it has been making Audiological equipment under other labels such as Kamplex, MedRX and Amplivox for the last 30+ years.
This video otoscope is designed specifically for Audiology. It can be plugged directly into a computer, phone, tablet or any of the Resonance range of their touch screen standalone audiometers and has some great features that set it apart from the rest such as Natus Otocam, Interacoustic Viot, MedRX. What makes this different:
- Connects via USB C into pc, smart phones, tablet and Resonance standalone audiometers. Requires app for smart devices and includes windows software for PCs
- Uses Heines 4mm specula making it more hygienic and more cost efficient then its rivals
- Integrates with HIMSA Noah version 4 or newer so any pictures taken on it saves into the relevant Noah patient record. This means it can be easily used in Noah generated reports with other Audiological test data.
- Capture images whilst recording a video
- Button for taking pictures is on the video otoscope for ease of use
- High-intensity LED illumination and high-resolution image sensor

We’ve been testing these for a few months now since they came out. Initially there were some tweaks to the software they had to make but now works great.
It works well with integrating into Noah and also works well standalone. We like that you can decide how the images are saved eg format of image, images are marked as Rt and Lt ears, you can decide where the images are saved on the computer and there is a zoom feature which allows you to zoom in on the TM.
We also noticed because it is thinner than other VO such as Interacoustics Viot and Natus otocam, it makes it much easier to use and hold.
All this in a price tag much lower than Interacoustics, MedRx and Natus Otocam but with the same and in some instances better quality. Impressed.
